Joel Farabee produced a three-point performance with a goal and two assists to lead the Calgary Flames to a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Farabee opened the scoring for Calgary with a snap shot at 17:50 of the first period following assists from Adam Klapka and Kevin Bahl. Detroit answered early in the second period when Andrew Copp scored on a backhand at 2:22 off a feed from J.T. Compher to tie the game 1-1.

Calgary pulled away later in the second period with three unanswered goals. Zayne Parekh scored his first goal of the season on a wrist shot during a power play at 8:38 to give the Flames the lead for good. Ryan Strome added an even-strength goal at 17:04 off assists from Morgan Frost and Matvei Gridin. Gridin then capped the scoring at 18:30 with a power-play snap shot set up by Farabee and Matt Coronato.

Goaltender Devin Cooley stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced to earn the victory for Calgary. John Gibson made 21 saves on 25 shots in the loss for Detroit. The Flames finished a perfect 2-for-2 on the power play, while the Red Wings came up empty on their two power-play opportunities.

The victory extended the Flames' winning streak to three games and improved their regular-season record to 4-6-0. The Red Wings moved to 4-4-3 on the season after failing to pick up a standings point.

Both teams return to the ice on Monday, October 26. The Red Wings will visit the Edmonton Oilers, while the Flames remain home to host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
