Calgary Flames captain Mikael Backlund played a key role in his team's 3-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings, contributing a goal and an assist. Jonathan Huberdeau and Kevin Rooney also added goals for Calgary. Trevor Moore scored the sole goal for the Kings. Rookie goaltender Dustin Wolf stopped 28 shots for the Flames, while Darcy Kuemper recorded the loss after facing just 27 shots.
