Tomas Hertl and Jack Eichel each produced four points as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-2 on Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena. Vegas built a five-goal cushion across the first two periods, riding balanced scoring and a pair of two-goal outings from Hertl and Victor Olofsson to secure the road win.

The Golden Knights initiated the scoring late in the opening period. Olofsson deflected a shot from Rasmus Andersson past Seattle goaltender Joey Daccord at 13:02, with Hertl earning the second assist. Less than three minutes later, Hertl doubled the advantage on the power play at 15:58, using a wrist shot on feeds from Mark Stone and Eichel to send Vegas into the first intermission ahead 2-0.

Special teams helped Vegas pull away early in the second period. While killing a penalty, Stone snapped in a shorthanded goal set up by Eichel at 1:43. Olofsson widened the margin to 4-0 at 13:07 when he snapped a shot home off assists from Hertl and Trevor Connelly. Eichel then capped the middle period with an unassisted wrist goal at 19:29, leaving the Kraken in a 5-0 hole.

Seattle switched goaltenders for the final period, bringing in Philipp Grubauer in relief of Daccord. Shane Wright put the Kraken on the board at 4:52 with an even-strength wrist shot, assisted by Kaapo Kakko and Cale Fleury. Hertl answered on a power play at 9:43, converting a wrist shot with helpers from Ivan Barbashev and Eichel. Jared McCann concluded the scoring for Seattle on a man advantage at 15:00, scoring his first goal of the season on a wrist shot assisted by Jordan Eberle and Kakko.

Vegas netminder Carter Hart earned the victory with 25 saves on 27 shots. Daccord stopped 16 of 21 shots over two periods and took the loss, while Grubauer turned away six of seven shots in the third. The Golden Knights converted two of five power plays and added a shorthanded tally, holding Seattle to one goal on five man-advantage chances.

The win pushed the Golden Knights to 3-1-0 on the regular season and extended their winning streak to two games. Seattle moved to 2-2-0 with the loss in the first regular-season meeting between the two clubs.

Both teams resume regular-season play on Tuesday, October 20. The Golden Knights host the Tampa Bay Lightning, while the Kraken host the Detroit Red Wings.
