Lukas Dostal stopped all 29 shots he faced to record a shutout as the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 at Honda Center on Thursday night.
Following a scoreless opening period, Anaheim took the lead with three even-strength goals in the second period. Alex Killorn opened the scoring at 3:10 by tipping in a shot with assists from Gustav Lindstrom and Urho Vaakanainen. Brett Leason made it 2-0 at 9:34 on a wrist shot set up by Ben Meyers and Pavel Mintyukov. Killorn added his second goal of the game at 18:26, scoring on a snap shot after passes from Leason and Olen Zellweger.
Frank Vatrano scored the final goal at 10:31 of the third period on a power-play snap shot, assisted by Cam Fowler and Troy Terry. That marked Vatrano's 30th goal of the regular season and produced the final 4-0 margin.
Dostal earned the win for the Ducks with his 29 saves, while Blackhawks goaltender Arvid Soderblom stopped 21 of 25 shots in the loss. Anaheim went 1-for-5 on the power play, while Chicago went 0-for-1. The Ducks also won 35 of 60 faceoffs.
The victory improved Anaheim's regular-season record to 24-43-3. The Blackhawks dropped to 19-46-5 on the season and remained winless in two straight games.
