Less than two minutes later, Kyle Connor gave the Jets a 2-1 lead at 12:38 by converting a slap shot off a pass from Neal Pionk.

The Stars pressed throughout the third period and finally leveled the score with two minutes remaining in regulation. Hintz snapped in his fourth goal of the season at 18:00, with assists going to Rantanen and Johnston. Hintz then ended the contest at 3:47 of overtime, scoring with a snap shot off feeds from Miro Heiskanen and Robertson.
