A four-goal explosion in the third period lifted the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at Rogers Arena on Saturday night. Liam Ohgren played a central role in the comeback, collecting a goal and an assist in the final frame to overturn an early Calgary lead.

Calgary opened the scoring in the first period when Matt Coronato tallied his first goal of the season on the power play at 14:51. Zayne Parekh and Joel Farabee assisted on the wrist shot, giving the Flames a 1-0 lead that held through a scoreless second period.

The Canucks responded quickly in the third period. Ohgren leveled the score 1-1 at 1:28 with his first goal of the year, assisted by Paul Cotter and Tom Willander. Elias Pettersson then gave Vancouver the lead at 9:04, scoring his first of the season on a backhand shot set up by Ohgren and Willander. Drew O'Connor extended the lead to 3-1 at 16:33 off a feed from Linus Karlsson, and Aatu Raty sealed the result with an empty-net goal at 17:16.

Leevi Merilainen stopped 23 of 24 shots in the Vancouver net to earn the win. Devin Cooley made 22 saves on 25 shots for Calgary. The Flames finished 1 of 2 on the power play, while Vancouver went 0 of 5 with the man advantage.

The result pushed the Canucks to a 2-1-0 record on the season. The Flames dropped to 0-2-0 and remain winless through their first two games.
