Clayton Keller scored twice to lead the Utah Mammoth to a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night at Rogers Place.

Utah opened the scoring on the power play at 10:38 of the first period when Barrett Hayton beat Devon Levi with a wrist shot for his first goal of the season. The Mammoth doubled their advantage in the second period, again on the man advantage, as Keller snapped home a feed from Logan Cooley at 11:57. Edmonton answered at 13:54 on an even-strength wrist shot by Leon Draisaitl, but Cooley answered just 23 seconds later with a tip-in goal to restore the two-goal cushion for Utah.

The Oilers cut the deficit to one early in the third period when Shakir Mukhamadullin scored his first goal of the season on a snap shot at 1:40. Edmonton could not manage an equalizer, and Keller sealed the result with an empty-net wrist shot with 28 seconds remaining in regulation.

Karel Vejmelka earned the win for Utah by turning aside 22 of 24 shots, while Levi took the loss after stopping 21 of 24. Special teams favored the Mammoth, who went 2-for-3 on the power play while holding Edmonton scoreless on two man advantages.

The win extended the winning streak for the Mammoth to three games and improved their regular-season record to 6-2-0. Edmonton moved to 5-1-1 following the defeat.

Utah returns to action on Monday, October 19, when it hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Oilers host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, October 20.
