Bobby McMann scored in regulation and added the decisive tally in the fifth round of the shootout to give the Seattle Kraken a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

McMann opened the scoring for Seattle on a power play at 7:57 of the first period, beating Dan Vladar with a wrist shot off assists from Jordan Eberle and Chandler Stephenson. The Kraken stretched the advantage to 2-0 midway through the second period when Ville Ottavainen scored his first goal of the season with a snap shot at 8:54, assisted by Mackie Samoskevich and Josh Mahura.

Philadelphia rallied with two goals in a span of 1:13 early in the third period. Christian Dvorak started the comeback at 6:07, converting a snap shot with assists from Oliver Bonk and Vladar. Trevor Zegras then notched his first goal of the season at 7:20, tying the game 2-2 on a snap shot set up by Travis Sanheim and Owen Tippett.

After overtime settled nothing, the teams engaged in a five-round shootout. Matty Beniers scored in the first round for Seattle and Matvei Michkov converted in the second round for Philadelphia. Philipp Grubauer stopped four of the five Flyers shooters he faced, and Vladar made three saves before McMann solved him in the final round to secure the win.

Grubauer finished the evening with 24 saves on 26 shots for the Kraken, who went 1-for-5 on the power play. Vladar stopped 29 of 31 shots in the loss as Philadelphia came up empty on three man advantages.

The victory was the third in a row for the Kraken, improving their record to 5-2-0 on the season. The Flyers fell to 0-5-3 and extended their winless streak to eight games.

The Flyers remain at home to host the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. The Kraken return to action on Tuesday, October 20, when they host the Detroit Red Wings.
