Brayden McNabb broke a scoreless tie late in the second period to lift the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday.
Following a scoreless opening period, the Golden Knights broke through at 16:25 of the second period when McNabb scored his fourth goal of the season on a wrist shot, assisted by Tomas Hertl and Pavel Dorofeyev. Michael Amadio doubled the Vegas advantage at 7:13 of the third period, beating the defense unassisted with a snap shot for his 14th goal.
Chicago cut into the deficit late in regulation. Jason Dickinson converted a wrist shot for his 22nd goal of the season at 16:02 of the third period, set up by Connor Bedard and Philipp Kurashev to make it 2-1. Vegas sealed the outcome at 18:24 when Nicolas Roy scored an empty-net goal on a snap shot, assisted by Brett Howden and Jack Eichel.
Logan Thompson earned the win in net for Vegas, stopping 22 of 23 shots. Petr Mrazek took the loss for Chicago after making 34 saves on 36 shots as Vegas finished with a 37-23 advantage in shots on goal. Neither club converted on the man advantage, with both sides finishing 0 for 1 on the power play.
The victory improved Vegas to 45-28-8 on the regular season and pushed their winning streak to three straight games. Chicago dropped to 23-53-5 and remained winless in five straight games.
