On Friday, the Philadelphia Flyers triumphed over the New York Rangers with a 3-1 victory, highlighted by Travis Konecny netting two goals and Ivan Fedotov stopping 22 shots.
Konecny notched his first goal during the opening period on a breakaway, later sealing the game with an empty-netter in the final minute. Additionally, Bobby Brink contributed to the scoring for Philadelphia, who have now secured at least a point in their last four games.
For New York, Vincent Trocheck was the lone goal scorer during their fifth straight defeat. Despite Igor Shesterkin's 32 saves, the Rangers were outshot 37 to 33 and were often out-chanced throughout the game.
The turning point of the match came when Fedotov made a crucial sprawling save to deny Mika Zibanejad's attempt to level the score with just two minutes left on the clock.
Statistically, Konecny has been on a remarkable streak, achieving 18 points over the past 12 games, which includes seven goals and 11 assists.
Looking ahead, the Rangers are set to face Montreal at home on Saturday, while the Flyers will head to St. Louis for their next game.
