Goaltender Remi Poirier stopped all 24 shots he faced to lead the Dallas Stars to a 2-0 preseason victory against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday at American Airlines Center. Kyle Capobianco assisted on both Dallas goals as the Stars earned their third consecutive preseason win.

After a scoreless opening period in which both clubs traded chances, the Stars grabbed the lead late in the second period. Matthew Seminoff broke the tie at 15:33, beating Minnesota goaltender Jesper Wallstedt with an even-strength snap shot off a setup from Capobianco. Dallas added insurance past the midway mark of the third period when Esa Lindell scored on an even-strength wrist shot at 10:39, assisted by Capobianco and Artem Shlaine.

Poirier finished the night with a 24-save shutout to earn the win for Dallas. Wallstedt took the loss for the Wild after stopping 22 of the 24 shots he faced. Both teams struggled on special teams throughout the contest, with Minnesota finishing 0 for 2 on the power play and Dallas going 0 for 5 with the man advantage. Minnesota accumulated 17 penalty minutes on the night compared to 11 for Dallas.

Both teams return to the ice on Tuesday, October 20. The Wild travel to visit the Edmonton Oilers, while the Stars remain at home to host the Boston Bruins.
