Connor McDavid produced a five-point performance with two goals and three assists to guide the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-2 victory over the Utah Mammoth at Delta Center on Saturday night.

McDavid opened the scoring just 40 seconds into the contest with an even-strength backhand goal assisted by Leon Draisaitl and Vasily Podkolzin. Edmonton expanded the margin with two goals in a 32-second span late in the frame. Zach Hyman notched his first goal of the season on a power-play backhand at 13:21, and Mathieu Joseph followed with his first goal of the season on an unassisted snap shot at 13:53 to build a 3-0 lead.

The Oilers maintained control during the second period. Kasperi Kapanen scored on a snap shot at 10:57 off feeds from McDavid and Evan Bouchard, and Draisaitl added a snap shot at 13:48 with assists from McDavid and Mattias Ekholm to make it 5-0. Utah pushed back in the third period with an even-strength slap shot from John Marino at 4:25 and an unassisted snap shot from Mikhail Sergachev at 6:00. McDavid ended any comeback bid with an unassisted snap shot at 10:17 to seal the four-goal margin.

Tristan Jarry earned the win in net for Edmonton by stopping 26 of 28 shots, while the Oilers scored on their lone power-play chance and killed both penalties they took. Karel Vejmelka started for Utah and took the loss after stopping 12 of 17 shots before Sebastian Cossa came in to make three saves on four shots.

The result brought Edmonton to a 6-1-1 regular-season record and split the two-game season series between the teams after Utah had won 4-2 on Thursday. The Mammoth saw their record move to 6-3-0 with the loss.

Edmonton will host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, while Utah hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.
