On Saturday night, the Anaheim Ducks took on the Boston Bruins at the Honda Center. The Ducks were eager to build on their momentum by securing a third consecutive win, whereas the Bruins aimed to end their two-game losing streak.
The opening period saw both teams exchange scoring opportunities frequently. It was the Bruins who struck first, with David Pastrnak netting a power-play goal midway through the period. The Ducks responded near the end of the period when Ryan Getzlaf scored, thanks to an assist from Troy Terry, to tie the game.
Early in the second period, the Ducks gained the lead as Trevor Zegras scored his first goal of the season. However, the Bruins equalized later in the period with a goal from Brad Marchand, leaving the teams deadlocked as they headed into the third period.
In the early moments of the third period, the Ducks took back the lead with a goal from Isac Lundestrom, assisted by Adam Henrique. Midway through the period, the Bruins leveled the score once more with a goal from David Krejci. The game proceeded to overtime, where the Ducks clinched victory with Henrique scoring the decisive goal.
John Gibson stopped 31 shots for the Ducks, while Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves for the Bruins. With this win, the Ducks improved their record to 9-13-1, while the Bruins fell to 13-8-2.
